Browser sample

This one hasn't got a sample yet.

Every Truckfish game gets a small hand-built browser sample — never a slice of the real build, just enough to show how the game thinks. MigrationScope's isn't written yet; it lands with Drop 004. In the meantime there is a real screenshot from the actual build below, which is the honest substitute.

What it is

A migration, run one decision at a time

You lead the House of Sela. The plateau you have lived on is drying, you have roughly eighteen days of water, and the only crossing anyone knows is held by people who have no reason to like you. MigrationScope is top-down and pauseable — real-time until it matters, then as slow as you need.

Everyone acts on what they believe

This is the rule the whole game is built around. No rival people can see the truth about you — only what they have observed, what they were told, and what somebody wanted them to think. A faction that fears you and a faction that has been fed a false report about you behave differently, and both can be wrong. Fear and need make a people cautious, never friendly; that distinction decides most negotiations.

Ask any decision why it happened

Every choice a faction makes stores its own explanation: eleven weighted factors and the option that came second. Open the Why panel and you see trust, grievance, competition, fear, need and honour with their actual numbers. When a neighbour rejects an offer you thought was generous, you find out precisely which grievance outweighed it.

Nothing is free

Guards come out of the same labour pool as harvesters. A scout sent out is a pair of hands not working. Capturing something you cannot hold costs you more than leaving it. The economy is small enough to hold in your head and tight enough that every allocation hurts somewhere else.

From the actual build

What the real game looks like.

Straight out of the current build, uncropped and unretouched.

MigrationScope in play: the House of Sela camped on a plateau, 431 people shown as a crowd of figures, with clan, labour, reports and belief panels around the map.
A live session, Year 7, Late Dry Season, Day 18 431 people camped with seven days of water left. Down the left: the four clans and what each of them wants. Down the right: reports, and What We Believe — the Reed People read as openly hostile on 21-day-old information, and nobody has ever looked at the Hill Clans' strength. The Why? buttons open the actual reasoning.

The HUD is deliberately plain at this stage — the systems were built before the surface, and it will be replaced before the interface work is done.

Gameplay video is being captured for this page and isn't here yet.
